The Lower Family has been involved in the meat processing business for four generations. Our company originated in Smithfield, Utah in the early 1920's as a custom-cut and sausage facility. The family sold its slaughter and packing plant and now focuses on our processing facility located in Richmond, Utah. We have added a raw processing facility on the North side of the property. This permanently separates the raw and cooked processing into separate plants for food safety. It expands our capacity allowing us to stay ahead of our customers ever changing needs.
We process whole, sliced, and shredded beef, pork and poultry for both retail and food service customers. Due to customer requests, we have added new poultry items and continued to make many pork items as well as expanding our Hispanic menu offerings. Alan Lower is the current President of Lower Foods.
